Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), group health plans in effect on March 23, 2010 may be “Grandfathered.” Grandfathered plans are exempt from some of the requirements of the PPACA. Whether your Fundamental Care plan is Grandfathered or not will affect what your Fundamental Care plan covers. If you want to enroll in a Fundamental Care plan, please review the information about Grandfather status on the cover of your enrollment brochure to learn what this status may mean for you.

Fundamental Care is not a comprehensive major medical plan. It provides the peace-of-mind and security of knowing that you have health coverage for minor issues such as colds and flu, broken bones or sprains and strains. Network Discounts

You can visit any doctor of your choice; but you may get discounts if the doctor you select belongs to the CIGNA PPO network (Fundamental Care is a directed-indemnity plan, not a PPO plan; but the Fundamental Care plan offers discounts when you visit CIGNA PPO network doctors).

Employee Assistance Program

You will have access to the CIGNA 24-Hour Employee Assistance ProgramSM that enables you to speak with a registered nurse or other trained professional 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Healthy Rewards®

Healthy Rewards® offers you discounts on health products and services such as: weight loss programs, vitamins, and dental products. You'll receive discounts of up to 60% on brand names like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig® and much more. Healthy Rewards® is not available in all states, and is not insurance.
